RESULTS OF THE MIKE I'ANSON JUNIOR TROPHY MATCH ON SUNDAY 3 JUNE 2023
The fishing was pretty hard for all competitors, with a continuing cool north-easterly breeze, high pressure and clear skies.
Harlun
Mortimer-Rees started fishing a 4m whip and maggot, and caught a few
perch on peg 26 before switching to maggot feeder tactics which
eventually paid dividends with 3 bream (biggest 2lbs 2 ozs) for a total
weight of 4lbs 11 ozs.
Theo Nicholson again started with whip tactics which
brought
him a few perch from peg 30, but as the bites dried up he switched to a
ledgered 10mm boillie and his patience was eventually rewarded 10
minutes from the end when a bream of 3lbs 13ozs came to the net. His
total weight was 4lbs 6ozs.
Harrison
Mortimer-Rees shared peg 26 with his brother, and he also had 3
skimmers but they weren't quite as big (his largest as 2lbs). His total
weight of 4lbs 4ozs made it a very close competition for the top 3
places.
Before
the match Jake Enderwick said that he was determined to do better than
last year (when he finished last with just 2 fish), and he achieved
this in style with 1lb 1oz of small perch (heaviest 6ozs) on peg 24.
Sebastian
Boyer got off to a good start on peg 35, with small perch coming slowly
from the start but bites soon dried up and he finished with 12ozs.
Jenny
Breeze spent most of the day fishing her normal bream method feeder
tactics, but failed to get any bites on peg 36. She eventually put just
6ozs of perch on the scales.
Jake Carter also failed to get any bites on his feeder tactics on peg 31, and had to be content to put 5ozs on the scales.
Dexter Cairns fished peg 38 and had a few small perch and a roach/bream hybrid for a total of 4ozs.
Daniel
Blythe also failed to get a bite in his quest for bream or carp on
either a pole or feeder tactics from peg 23. He even struggled in his
quest for small perch, getting only 1 which added to the single roach
gave him a total of 1oz 8drms.
The prize for the heaviest roach was shared with Jake Carter.
